A Bit About Me

Whether you are beginning, re-starting or continuing therapy, I recognize that this process requires both vulnerability and willingness to dig deep into concerns that can sometimes feel debilitating. Everyone deserves to work with a therapist who will meet you exactly where you are at; that will normalize your concerns and worries rather than meet them with judgment and an “alarmist” perspective. I will remind you that you, and only you, are the expert of your experiences. My role is that of a catalyst; for you to learn how to advocate for your own autonomy with independence and connect to your personal truth with authenticity. As someone that is latinx, queer, and GNC; I understand there are various intersectionalities that can lead to feeling unheard and stigmatized by those around you. In these moments it can be difficult to know that you are not alone. I understand this through my own lived experiences and am ready to support and hold space for you. While I work with folks on a range of concerns including anxiety, depression and grief; trauma/PTSD is an area of expertise I offer. When working through trauma I help folks learn ways to ground themselves in the present moment, and also facilitate connecting past experiences to current feelings and patterns in your life and body.

Why did you decide to become a social worker?

I decided to become a counselor because I have always had a passion and interest in creating a safe space for others emotions and feelings. I value the importance of emotional intelligence and being able to offer to others an environment where they are able to navigate through life's barriers in a nonjudgemental and compassionate way.

What type of clients are you most excited to work with?

I'm most excited to work with folks that have mood and personality disorders as understanding the nuances of those diagnoses has become a passion of mine, as well as those that identify as queer/trans/GNC.

What's one thing you wish all clients knew?

It's essential to recognize that our doubts, uncertainties, and questions hold as much value as our

moments of clarity. True well-being, much like art, isn't solely defined by labels of "good" or "bad"; it's about

resonance and alignment with the individual experiencing it.

Why did you choose to practice at Ashe Counseling & Coaching LLC

I chose to practice at Ashe Counseling because their mission aligns perfectly with my core values as a social worker and clinician. I wanted to work in an environment that celebrates and acknowledges diversity, is client-centered, and operates from a place of radical empathy and socio-economic consideration.
