About Me
Thank you for stopping by my bio! I’m Brittany, a Licensed Professional Counselor, and I’m so glad you’re here. Most people describe me as silly, honest, passionate, thoughtful, patient, and genuine—qualities that I bring into my work as a therapist. My clients often experience a calm, grounding presence from me, paired with deep compassion and acceptance in each therapeutic relationship.
I believe that the therapeutic relationship is an essential building block for healing and growth. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, stress, depression, trauma, relationship issues, life transitions, or something else, my goal is to create a safe and non-judgmental space where you feel understood and supported. My approach integrates a variety of therapies, including Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Internal Family Systems (IFS). I draw on these modalities to meet you where you are, tailor our focus to your unique needs, and develop meaningful tools and insights that can help you navigate life's challenges.
Outside of work, I enjoy biking, taking walks and exploring the outdoors, practicing yoga, reading, exploring new coffee shops, and spending time with my loved ones. These activities help me stay grounded and connected, and I find they help nurture my own well-being—something I believe is important for both personal and professional growth.
If you’re ready to take the next step toward feeling more grounded, empowered, and connected, I’d love the opportunity to support you on your journey.
Why did you decide to become a counselor ?
I became a mental health counselor after working closely with students in higher education, where I witnessed firsthand the challenges many students face when it comes to mental health. In my time working with students, I began to notice a significant gap in mental health support, and how that lack of support often had a direct impact on their academic performance and overall well-being.
Becoming a counselor felt like a natural extension of my passion for helping others, and it gave me the opportunity to create a space where people could explore their struggles, gain insight, and develop healthier coping mechanisms. I’m committed to offering that support to clients at all stages of their journey.
What types of clients are you most excited to work with?
I’m excited to work with clients at all stages of readiness for change. I believe that growth is a personal journey, and I’m passionate about meeting individuals where they are, whether they’re just beginning to explore therapy or are further along in their process.
I bring extensive experience in working with individuals who have ADHD, those on the autism spectrum (ASD), and clients who identify as transgender or gender non-conforming. These populations hold a special place in my heart, and I’m committed to providing a safe, understanding space for clients to explore their challenges and strengths. However, I’m thrilled to work with anyone who is ready to take me on their journey, regardless of their background or specific concerns. My approach is flexible and client-centered, and I truly enjoy helping people from all walks of life navigate their unique paths to healing and growth.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
One thing I wish all clients knew is that growth is non-linear. It’s completely normal to experience setbacks along the way, and it can sometimes feel like you’re taking three steps back after making progress. However, those steps forward are still meaningful, and they don’t disappear just because there are moments of difficulty. Healing and personal growth are not a straight line—they’re often more like a winding path with ups and downs. The key is to trust that even when it feels like you’re not moving forward, the progress you’ve made is still there, and you are still moving toward the person you want to be.
