About Me

I am a social worker and therapist at Ashe Counseling & Coaching LLC, known for my thoughtful, passionate, and genuine approach. I partner with clients on their journey toward healing and happiness, using evidence-based methods like CBT, psychodynamic techniques, and client-centered therapy. My focus is on building trust and connection, creating a safe space for clients to explore their experiences and work toward wellness.

With a Bachelor’s in Psychology from Howard University and a Master’s in Social Work from California State University, Northridge, I have a diverse professional background. My experience spans supporting older adults with dementia, working with emancipated foster youth, providing therapy to children and families, and addressing issues like anxiety, depression, trauma, and addiction.

Originally from New York City, I’ve lived in Los Angeles, Maryland, and now Chicago, where I’ve started my family. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, exploring museums, and discovering new destinations.

Why did you decide to become a social worker ?

I've always had a passion for understanding and supporting others. Being a social worker and therapist gives me the privilege to do both. This profession allows me to reach out to people in a very vulnerable place and offer hope, care, and encouragement.

What types of clients are you most excited to work with?

Clients who are skeptical of therapy and/or who have never experienced therapy excite me as it gives me the opportunity to change their mind and their life. I also enjoy working with those who have experienced abuse and trauma as it allows me to extend validation, caring and healing to people who may need it the most.

What's one thing you wish all clients knew?

What you feed your mind is as important as what you feed your body. All is mental and perception is reality.

Why did you choose to practice at Ashe Counseling?

I chose Ashe quite organically and surprisingly. As a stay-at-home mom, out with my children in the park, I struck up small talk with a therapist at Ashe. She was warm and friendly, and after realizing we both were social workers, she encouraged me to apply. I checked out the website and immediately knew this was an organization I wanted to be a part of. The rest, they say, is history.
