About Me
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Texas and a therapist at Ashe’ Counseling and Coaching. I have been described as compassionate, loyal, funny, and non-judgmental. My clients have described me as supportive, thoughtful, calm, genuine, and reliable. I believe therapy can be beneficial for anyone and that everyone is capable of healing and growth. My aim as a therapist is to build a collaborative, therapeutic relationship while working towards everyone’s unique goals. I am an LGBTQIA+ ally and strive to create a safe and inclusive space for all. I have been working with people in acute crisis for the past ten years and specialize in working with those that have experienced violent crimes and sexual assault. Therapy is an ever-evolving, fluid process that can be messy and challenging at points.
My goal is to provide a supportive and solid foundation to guide the person through this process. I utilize an evidence-based, eclectic approach that includes elements of Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Motivational Interviewing. I always strive to provide an umbrella for people’s life storms. I grew up in a suburb of Houston, TX and later settled in the central Texas area. I obtained undergraduate degrees in Human Sciences and Social Work, and received a Master’s of Science in Social Work from the University of Texas at Arlington. I have worked in crisis community settings, inpatient hospitals, and victim services primarily serving adults. I’ve had the honor to work with many people representing various marginalized communities and believe that every voice deserves to be heard.
When I am not working you can find me tending to my plants and hanging out with my pack of elderly rescue dogs. I also enjoy spending time with friends, listening to podcasts, and traveling the globe!
Why did you decide to become a social worker ?
I wanted to be able to help individuals navigate the storms in their lives and find it empowering to do so.
What types of clients are you most excited to work with?
I enjoy working with clients who are ready to try something different, even if they aren't sure what that is yet.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
It is never too late to start therapy and make a positive change in your life.
I wanted to work with a practice that is empowering and inclusive to both its' employees and clients. Ashe fosters a collaborative and innovative environment in ways that other practices don't.
